George with his 2nd and 1st Gents

I suggest these:

Country Gents Tenny's and more

George Harrison had two Gretsch Country Gents, one Gretsch Tennessean, a Duo Jet, and much later in his career a 6120 he was given for his birthday from his wife Oliva just in time for his Carl Perkins tribute gig in the 1980's.

Obviously, George loved Gretschs! With their dirty twang and in your face slap, it's not hard to see why.

Back in The Beatles heyday, during their touring years, George's Gretschs are common fixtures on stage and in the studio. These guitars were outfitted with silkwound nickel flatwound strings.

To capture this sound, I would suggest a lighter string for easier bends, but he alternated between a wound G and and an unwound G.
